All of our parenting programmes are provided FREE for parents living in Counties Manukau. This includes onsite child minding for daytime and evening programmes. We can arrange transport when necessary and nutritious refreshments are provided for both parents and children.
Mellow Bumps Antenatal Programme

Mellow Bumps is an antenatal programme for any expectant parent who would like to know more about their developing baby. Whānau support is encouraged and welcome.
This 6 week group programme focuses on ways you can improve your child's development both during pregnancy and after birth. Approachable facilitators answer any questions about bonding with your baby, reducing stress and keeping your baby safe.

Poipoia Ngā Mokopuna/1st 1000 Days Workshop
Next workshop starting 17 October 2024
A collaborative workshop for parents of young children aged two and under. The sessions are co-designed by what the parents feel would be beneficial for them. They also have the opportunity to lead a session to share their own knowledge and personal experiences to help other parents. It is a space for connection and sharing. Babies are welcome to join in for the sessions.

At the heart of Hoki Ki te Rito / Mellow Parenting Programme is learning and thinking about your relationship between you and your child or children.
Mums and Dads groups are separate in the morning sessions and combine in Babies or Toddlers groups in the sessions after lunch - couples and single parents can attend. We encourage parents who are working to retain day to day care of their children, or working toward their return to attend. Our experienced facilitators work with the group to explore your own experience of being parented and your parenting experience.

Open to parents with children aged 3-8 years of age. This 14 week programme focuses on learning how your parenting can change to take into account you and your child's needs. The facilitators relaxed and friendly approach allows the group to learn together. Practical step-by-step suggestions help in handling everyday situations.

Soalaupule - Samoan Parenting Programme

Soalaupule is a Samoan word for a conversation that seeks to resolve difficult issues through sharing power and critical reflection. Soalaupule is a conversation that is held in an encouraging and positive environment always with the goal of finding a way forward.
This is a 12 week program on Tuesdays for mātua (parents) and āiga (family members) wishing to address difficult issues relating to the care of fānau (children). The program provides an opportunity for self-reflection (tomānatu) and for every participant to build new skills in a safe, non-judgmental environment. The program is based on the reality of Samoan lifestyles in Aotearoa, the challenges of raising families and the potential of every child and their aiga to thrive.
Soalaupule is offered in both Samoan and English/Samoan languages.
Places are limited and early registration is important. Based at the Mangere East Community Centre.

A 12-week programme for parents of young children with Autism Spectrum Disorder or social communication difficulties who are on our current Early Intervention caseload. Family members learn practical ways of helping their children with communication through group sessions and home visits. Based at the Mangere East Community Centre.
